It's Always About the People - Deloitte's Technology Fast 500

2012-Tech-Fast-500-LogoI am excited to share that NewsGator has again made Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500™, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences, and clean technology companies in North America. There are great businesses and innovation companies recognized and we are thrilled to once again make the list. NewsGator did move down two spots this year. Disappointed? No, not in the least. You see, this is our fourth year in a row on the list and given the competition and the way these rankings are determined, we’re actually quite pleased.

Here’s why. These rankings are based on the percentage of growth rate. So, when you’re in the early stages of building the business - going from none to one customer to over simplify – a large percent increase in revenue growth is almost inevitable. As the customer wins pile up (we are at 4+ million seats by the way) that meteoric percentage rate of growth becomes mathematically less likely - the trajectory of growth continues upward, but the angle moderates.

Staying solidly on a growth list of this type for several years in a row is a testament to two things NewsGator has had going for it from the start – the benefits of social in the enterprise are undeniable and the appeal of a human-centric, truly enterprise-scale social offering wins customers.
In their early stages, technologically driven paradigm shifts tend to focus on features and functions. NewsGator, while a pioneer in social enterprise capabilities, has always understood that the social workplace revolution had to be about people first. If the capabilities didn’t work the way people did, how could they improve the experience of work? Getting the human part right means the features are actually used and are in fact really useful and, in turn, become a seamless part of how people do their job better and derive more satisfaction from the process.

So, while the inexorable math of record year-over-year revenue growth rates may change our position on lists like Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500, we are more confident than ever we’ll continue to be on the short list for enterprises wanting to transform how they work with a human-centric approach like ours – and that is a list we expect to be on for many years to come.
