Great Eight Countdown -- #2!

By Brian Kellner, May 11, 2010

Microsoft launches SharePoint 2010 on May 12. And NewsGator is counting down the weeks with a rundown of SharePoint's new features...plus the "great eight" ways that NewsGator Social Sites goes above and beyond SharePoint 2010 to make your organization truly social. (Truth be told, we've been making SharePoint organizations social for years. Ask 2.1 million NewsGator Social Sites users.)

Here's #2 (remember, we're counting backwards)

Mobile Support
Employees will be able to use Web browsers or a Windows Mobile client on their mobile phones to interact with SharePoint 2010.  The number of mobile browsers supported is quite impressive in SharePoint 2010.

NewsGator Social Sites 2010 goes above and beyond SharePoint 2010, offering SharePoint access through native Social Sites clients for the iPhone, iPad and Blackberry. Users can update their status, comment on activities, discover colleagues, and participate in community discussions all through rich, native clients that take full advantage of the mobile platform. Users can take a picture or shoot a video and upload it for others to see.  Or ask a question and target it to specific communities and users. Social computing’s value increases when mobile users can engage directly with their social network whenever and wherever they like.

Subscribe to the countdown via e-mail, RSS, or Twitter. Or just come back tomorrow for the #1 reason NewsGator Social Sites goes above and beyond SharePoint 2010!
