Great Eight Countdown -- #5!

By Brian Kellner, April 29, 2010

Microsoft launches SharePoint 2010 on May 12. And NewsGator is counting down the weeks with a rundown of SharePoint's new features...plus the "great eight" ways that NewsGator Social Sites goes above and beyond SharePoint 2010 to make your organization truly social. (Truth be told, we've been making SharePoint organizations social for years. Ask 2.1 million NewsGator Social Sites users.)

Here's #5 (remember, we're counting backwards)

Ideas
Organizations can use SharePoint 2010 as an innovation management platform if they build or buy extra functionality.

NewsGator Social Sites 2010’s Ideas functionality will go above and beyond SharePoint 2010. It will provide an out-of-the-box capability for capturing, developing, evaluating, rating/voting and implementation of any employee’s fresh ideas for improving organizational performance. Ideas will be integrated into Social Sites communities and individual profiles. Executives and others will be able to view all ideas at once in the Idea Center and drill down for details on the most intriguing proposals. Cultivating employees’ ideas for continuous improvement will make a tangible impact on business performance, not to mention morale.

Subscribe to the countdown via e-mail, RSS, or Twitter. Or just come back next week for #4. Ask a Social SharePoint 2010 question, and we may feature it in our next post.
