Tribune Media Services Expands Sports Widgets for Online Newspapers

By Melissa Risteff, September 19, 2008

Just in time for the fall football season, Tribune Media Services (TMS) is offering media companies and consumers unique access to game schedules and broadcast times.  TMS has just expanded its line of sports widgets to include all major professional and college team sports.  With these widgets, sports fans can now turn to their newspaper website to track broadcast times and channels for all of their favorite local teams.

The new widgets are viral so that readers can take the newspapers’ brand and content to their favorite online locations including start pages, blogs, and social networks.  In addition, the widgets offer newspapers expanded ad inventory.  This product expansion is just one more way that TMS is helping newspapers to add reader and advertiser appeal to their websites.
