NewsGator Private Label (NGPL)

By Jennifer Smith, December 13, 2005

Many of you already know that, after months of development, we launched our Enterprise Server and have had incredible response from the marketplace.  What we haven't talked about publicly (until today really) is the work we have been doing on our NewsGator Private Label suite of products.

Basically, the NGPL suite is geared to online publishers who want to provide their readers with a more robust online experience by building RSS aggregation/distribution into their sites.  The cool part is there are 3 distinct options for publishers to choose from:

First, we have NewsGator Hosted Solution (NGHS).  Simply put, NGHS is a user interface that allows online properties to build an RSS aggregator into their sites - publishers simply select the features they want and deploy the aggregator in their own brand in (literally) days.  We are thrilled to announce today that Newsweek and Macworld have selected NGHS as their solution (we have many others in the pipeline, too, just can't talk about it).  You can read the press release that we dropped from the Syndicate Conference here.

Next we have the Downloadable Apps option.  This one is perfect for online publishers who want to provide their readers a familiar interface such as,  NetNewsWire, FeedDemon or Outlook Edition - wrapped in their own brand.  In fact, Macworld will be providing their readers with a branded NetNewsWire - stay tuned for that announcement.

Finally, we have the API Solution.  Back in August we made our API and all supporting documentation public.  This solution is perfect for online publishers who want to leverage their own talented development staff.  They can simply license the API and develop pretty much whatever they like.

Needless to say, we have been busy around here!  Our primary objective, though, hasn't changed.  It is to provide individuals, businesses, enterprises and publishers with RSS aggregation/distribution tools that fit in with their strategy.  Stay tuned...there's more to come.
