And I want to keep the same application data folder for both OS's so that if I'm in either OS, all the folders, feeds, and other stuff is the same in both OS.

Is there anyway to allow us to select a custom folder for the application data to be stored in? (I'm not talking about where you install the program since I know that's already custom.)

Right now, the Windows 7 folder stores the stuff here: "C:\Users\(user name hidden for safety reasons)\AppData\Local\FeedDemon\v1" and I want to have it save in a custom place like: "E:\AppData_Combo\FeedDemon" so if can be interchangeable with both OS's.

Now, I know some of you might say do this via the Google integration, but I can't do this will all of my feeds since some are password protected (like GMail) and others are forums that have special areas that are protected by passwords.

Nick, I hope I'm making sense here to ya. lol. So, would something like this be possible as an "advance" option for people like me? Because if it can be added, I would greatly appreciate it. :) Or is there a special way to tweak this in, say the registry?

[posted by rickmastfan67 in forum "Desktop Clients/FeedDemon 3.0"]

RE: Washington Post Feeds are Timing Out

I happen to notice that if two feeds from one site try to update at the same exact time, that 90% of the time one or both of the feeds will get the 12002 error.

I've mostly had this problem with GMail's ATOM feeds because I keep track of two different GMail accounts. I am quite new to FeedDemon and after going thru all the options and reading the forums I can't seem to find some things that would help me:

1) Whenever there's a new feed I'd like FD to automatically jump to the news in that feed. What I mean is that I don't want to go: feed -click- > show news items -click- > select the piece of news

I want it to go feed -click- > first piece of news selected

Is this possible?

2) Hide all read feeds. Whenever I click on a feed I see all the old feeds there, I don't care about the already read feeds so it would be cool if I could hide all the ones I've already read.

EDIT (SOLVED): Stupid me, I've just found the "hide all read feeds" button. It would be cool to have it in the "view" tab, perhaps.

3) "go straight to item link" ON SPECIFIC FEEDS: this would be pretty cool as I am subscribed to some feeds that don't include the proper article but something like "read more", voiding the "when description is empty" option

Thanks in advance

[posted by Dexter_prog in forum "Desktop Clients/FeedDemon 3.0"]

RE: Possible Bug: "All unread items" showing "-1"
Nick Bradbury (12/26/2009)
You're right, of course -a negative unread count definitely shouldn't be possible! If everyone was seeing problems with such a popular feed, then I'm sure we'd see complaints here from a lot of people. So as mentioned in the other thread about this, I have to think there's a network issue on your end that's causing the problem.

[posted by Nick Bradbury in forum "Desktop Clients/FeedDemon 3.0"]

RE: How do I prevent download folders for podcasts?
critter42 (12/25/2009)
As you have found, there is no option for that - FS will always create folders. I transfer all podcasts to my MP3 player and don't use a playlist of any kind. I want all downloaded podcasts in one folder, sorted by date so I can see which are the latest. I'll look for a wish-list that I can add this to. I'm frankly surprised that it creates folders for podcasts - but that's only because I can see no reason for it to do so. :(

[posted by vadek in forum "Desktop Clients/FeedDemon 3.0"]

RE: Washington Post Feeds are Timing Out

Come on guys, help me out... ;)

[posted by On The Air in forum "Desktop Clients/FeedDemon 3.0"]

Feature Request

Hi!

I mostly use the such view to news feed folders that all feeds (also those that do not have un-read/new feeds) are visible (and yes I know that's also possible to show only those feeds that have un-read items).

However, to increase usability (in this case), it would be create to be able to view/sort feeds in a folder such way, that the feed having most un-read articles is top-most, the one having second most and so on (and then the others in aphabetical order) -> visual example:

Feed name 2 (32)

Feed name 1 (18)

Feed name 3 (3)

A Feed

B Feed

C Feed

....

BR,

Timo

[posted by tjsuominen in forum "Desktop Clients/FeedDemon 3.0"]
